Everyone Can Save Energy

Watch a clip of the film here:

This short animated DVD is mainly for people who have learning disabilities. It is easy to understand, and is aimed at tenants, people in sheltered housing, people who already have their own home, or those about to start living independently.

The film contains three stories that show ways to keep warm, ways to cut electricity and gas bills, and ways to combat climate change.

All the people in the film have learning disabilities, and one is also a wheelchair user. They come from a range of backgrounds and live in different kinds of households. But all of them find things they can do for themselves:

  • to save energy
  • to save money
  • to do something about climate change
The film was made in consultation with CHANGE and Mencap. All the voices on the soundtrack are those of actors with learning disabilities.

The DVD, which comes with a poster, can be used at home, or in education or training about energy saving, life skills or housing.

Produced with financial assistance from Eaga Partnership Charitable Trust, and Leeds City Council.
